About
Women & Girls Empowerment
The Black Women’s Roundtable (BWR) is the intergenerational leadership development, mentoring, and empowerment arm of the NCBCP, dedicated to amplifying the voices and power of Black and underserved women and girls. As a trusted convener and force for change, BWR advances racial, economic & gender justice and empowerment through civic, policy & leadership training, impactful programming and community organizing. The initiative champions equitable public policies that promote health and wellness, economic security, wealth building, education, and global empowerment—driving meaningful progress at the local, state, national and international level.
Through our nationwide network of state roundtables, we produce an annual policy agenda and report, featuring essays on issues impacting Black women and girls, and we co-lead the women’s and civil rights coalition’s annual Black Women’s Equal Pay Day campaign. In 2025, we also partnered with other women’s rights advocates to form The 78 Million campaign to protect the rights of women in the workplace, which have recently come under attack.
